The National Governors Association (NGA) today sent a letter to Congress supporting legislation that would combat rogue websites and protect US intellectual property. In the letter, Governors Sam Brownback and Jeremiah Nixon (Chair and Vice Chair of the NGA Economic Development and Commerce Committee) write:

“On behalf of the nation’s governors, we urge Congress to enact legislation that would strengthen U.S. law enforcement’s ability to take action against foreign “rogue” websites that traffic in stolen and counterfeit American-made intellectual property, threatening jobs and local economies in our states and across the country.”

The NGA joins the U.S. Conference of Mayors as well as over 40 state attorneys general in supporting legislation to stop digital theft.
