This week, the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator (IPEC), Victoria Espinel issued a call for suggestions and recommendations as the Obama Administration develops a new strategy for intellectual property enforcement.  The Pro IP Act, which established the IPEC, requires that office to issue regular joint strategic plans addressing protecting US intellectual property at home and overseas.

In an effort to develop the most effective enforcement strategy, the IPEC is seeking input from the public, including concerns about the current enforcement strategy and recommendations for combating emerging and/or future threats to our innovation and competitiveness, as well as public health and safety, posed by intellectual property infringement. They are also seeking information regarding the economic costs resulting from violations of intellectual property rights.
