There’s little doubt Don Rath, Jr., is a busy guy. He composes classical-style music, largely for string instruments, through the brand he’s building, String Tunes, which he calls “Music to sooth your soul.” He also is a prolific writer, developing instructional lessons for budding composers and studying the history of composition from its earliest beginnings to the present.

Don is also very passionate about copyright, and the security it provides him and his offspring. He wrote about that issue awhile back in a guest post on the Copyright Alliance blog.

I filmed Don in his home studio, where he does his composing and writing. We talked about his passion for music, his self-instruction as a composer, and his recorded works. He is in the process of re-releasing his first CD, “Night Wind.” You can hear him perform the title track from that CD on our video, a teaser for what is to come.

The Copyright Alliance's Patrick Ross visited Illinois during his Creators Across America cross-country road trip. This is his quick take on the state.
